Visit Lutheran School For The Deaf
For encouraging deaf students and share a happiness Christmas, we visited Lutheran School For The Deaf in the afternoon on 14th Dec, 2012. We had a wonderful prayer in Hong Kong Sign Language with all students and teachers. Meantime, we prepared gifts to them as the Christmas blessings.
School Visit (Canton, China)
Our ministry team visited a village school in Heyuan, Canton in the end of July. During the visit, we travelled around the school facilities and had a meeting with the principal to discuss the school status and their needs. There is one deaf child in the primary one. New Year Visit to a Hundred-year-old Man
Chan, lives alone in Hong Kong since 1949. He born in China and grew in Singapore when he was 4 years old and sent back to China when he was 16 years old. Since that, he enrolled in the army in China for the Sino-Japanese War in his youngster. His life is marvel; his story is full of precious life experience. His relatives in Singapore were out of contact after the war. The only dream in his heart is reunion with his relative. He wished and under his consent, we made an interview with video and put it in our website to see anyone may help. Chan is Christian and goes to church in Tai Po frequently started from Christmas 2010. We keep contact with Chan monthly by phone and visit. He cannot hear well and wishes to have hearing aid. Therefore, we contacted his social worker for following up the case.
Sharing with deaf friends and logo design
A dinner gathering with deaf friends held in Shatin was warm and full of fun. There were six deaf friends from Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Fiji Islands. We enjoyed very much in our cross cultural exchange! We shared and having fun, and also discussed the logo design of The Deaf and Children Ministry. Final decision of the logo chose by a group of deaf people who come from different countries. It is strengthen us!
Sharing with Rev. Kong
We had a deep sharing of the situation of our vision and life experience in prayer group since February 2010. During the meet, we learned a lot the importance of humble, spiritual healing and the power of the God in that warmest sharing with Rev. Kong. Rev. Kong mentioned that people can see the blind and disable persons but lack of man to think about the deaf community and he encouraged us. We thank you for his appreciation and encouragement to our aggressive for serving our Lord.
Visit Harmony Baptist Church, Hong Kong
This was our first meet since we back from the Trip of Asian Ministry in November 2009. During the visit, we shared our vision to work for the unity of Deaf and Hearing community in the Holy Spirit. And we thank you for the prayer intercession of Rev. Chris Hartwick in the past a few months since the trip. Besides, we also explained that we will establish a non-profit organization for the future development. We gained precious ideas, received encouragement and blessing from pastor in the meeting.
Sharing Talk in Youth Fellowship of St. Andrew's church
A wonderful talk with teenagers in the youth fellowship, we introduced serving the deaf people through communication with sign language and Deaf Awareness about deaf ministry. After the brief introduction, we shared words from bible and had a question and answer section. The responsibilities of those teenagers were keen on knowledge of deaf culture and deaf awareness. The talk reminded the participants to alert that share the love of Christ to the Deaf community and children in the poor countries is a need. Overall, we enjoyed a dynamic and enthusiastic response sharing!
Sharing in Hong Kong Church
The visit is a sharing of Asian Missionary with 15 Korean brothers and sisters in Hong Kong Church. After a brief introduction by Rev. Chen, we shared the updates of church situation and needs around Mekong River basin which I visited in August and November 2009. The shortage of spiritual books, church ministry and child education development had been posted in both of our prayer list after the visit. We had a wonderful time during the visit.
