Guest Sharing (Philippine Dance)




A wonderful cross-cultural sharing between the Philippines and Hong Kong was held on 7th December 2013. Sister Rose, our Philippine guest speaker introduced their cultural dance to the youth - Bamboo dance. During the class, Sister Rose taught the students hymns and prayed together, learned the Philippine culture and practiced the dancing skill of bamboo dance excitedly.

Visitor Speaker (Handcraft)




With our pleasure to invite Sister Celia Chan as visitor speaker for teaching a handcraft topic to the English group. Students practiced English through making bracelets and introduced their own products through presentation during class. After class, students chatted and shared their ideas in the round up section. A brother of one student who is from mainland China was also joined the class and enjoyed so much. What a precious!

The 2nd English Language Training for the Youth




English Language Training for the Youth was established in 2012. Considering great amount of migrant students study with local students in the mainstream school but in different cultural backgrounds, this year we expand this service to children who are in primary 6 to secondary 2 students including migrants from mainland China. Through the training, we provide them a healthy atmosphere on learning English, Hong Kong Sign Language and build their positive thinking.

Refugee Interview
There is only one family in the world according to the LOVE! For encouraging youth to experience a cross cultural sharing, we invited a refugee as our visitor for an interview and encouraged one another through the experience. Students understood the live of refugees in Hong Kong, education situation of their new generation, culture and history of other country and limitation of their living way here in Hong Kong through the interview. "I can't imagine that I can communicate with a refugee face to face.", "We can't learn this kind of fact at school.", "This is a valuable interview to enrich my life." and "I should let my classmates and friends get to know more..." Students discussed impressively one another during group discussion after the interview.

Guest Sharing






The guest sharing was held on 12 Jan 2013 for the English Language Training for the Youth. Mr. Steven Leung, our guest speaker is from Brooklyn Alliance Church New York to share the daily live in the United States. It provided a chance for students to practice English through the sharing. There was a good way to stimulate students to explore daily live in the other countries of the world through interaction of the sharing.

ELTY & Youth Birthday Party








The ELTY and Youth Party was held at Harmony Baptist Church (HK). That was the first English party of the group. Those students took up a chance be the MC, prepare the opening speech, English speech and performance. Before gathering lunch, there was a game time and lucky draw. What a wonderful chance for the ELTY youth to practice English through a party to share the happiness and the love of God with guests!

Youth Meeting


The 1st Youth Meeting of "English Language Training for the Youth" (ELTY) was held at Harmony Baptist Church. Meeting members reviewed their learning attitude, language skill and life value. Members also used self-assessment to predict their coming section of the study. Teenagers mentioned they gained English as well as Hong Kong Sign Language during the group! Before ending the meeting, members encouraged each other and welcomed one new member.

English Language Training for the Youth






A language training including English and Hong Kong Sign language for the youth which established in September 2012. Teenagers may grow in a relax and healthy way to learn language, deaf awareness and value.

Youth Growth Group
We designed a growth group for the secondary students both of deaf and hearing. Encouraging deaf youth teach sign language to hearing youth through games and sharing during the cross-cultural atmosphere. Meantime, we provided chances for them growing together through the English language training interaction.

Free English Language Training Programme for the Youth
It is a 7-month cross-cultural interaction programme for the youth. The training course is design for both of deaf and hearing youth to build friendship through learning and playing. Hearing youth may make use sign language for communication through experience with deaf and aware deaf culture.
